B&C x Fairly Made: Turning Transparency into Action
The apparel industry is at a crossroads. As customers and consumers demand greater transparency and brands face increasing regulatory pressures, the need for meaningful action has never been more urgent. At B&C, we’re not just responding to these challenges—we’re helping lead the charge. Our partnership with Fairly Made, a pioneer in supply chain traceability, marks a bold step forward in redefining what it means to create responsible, sustainable apparel.
The Problem: A Lack of Transparency
For too long, the apparel industry has operated in the shadows. Complex, multi-tiered supply chains have made it nearly impossible for brands—and consumers—to understand the true environmental and social impact of their choices. From raw material sourcing to manufacturing, the lack of visibility has hindered progress toward sustainability.
But the tide is turning. Consumers are demanding accountability, and governments are introducing stricter regulations. The question is no longer ‘if’ brands will embrace transparency, but ‘how’.

A Solution: Fairly Made’s Data-Based Approach
Enter Fairly Made, a French sustainability innovator on a mission to bring apparel supply chains into the light. Their platform enables the tracking of suppliers across multiple tiers, makes it easier to measure the carbon footprints of products, evaluates social compliance, and calculates environmental impact using the EU’s Product Environmental Footprint (PEF)*methodology.
In short, Fairly Made provides the hard facts that empower brands to make smarter, more responsible decisions—from raw materials to the final product.

Why This Partnership Matters
At B&C, we believe that sustainability starts with understanding. By partnering with Fairly Made, we’re not just committing to transparency—we’re committing to action. Here’s how:
1. Mapping our Supply Chain
We’ve already mapped most of our products from spinning to manufacturing (Tiers 1, 2, 3), and we’re aiming to push further, back to ginning first and then to farms (Tier 4). This level of traceability is rare in the industry, but it’s essential for driving real change.
*Tier 1 = Manufacturing, Tier 2 = Knitting/Dyeing/Weaving/Finishing, Tier 3 = Spinning, Tier 4 = Farming & Ginning
2. Measuring Impact
Fairly Made’s scoring system allows us to assess the environmental and social footprint of our products, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating progress.
3. Empowering Customers and Consumers
Through QR codes on our garment labels, customers can access detailed traceability information, CO₂ emissions data, and sustainability insights. We’re putting the power of knowledge directly into your hands.
4. Staying Ahead of Regulations
With key legislation like France’s AGEC Law and the upcoming EU Product Digital Passport on the horizon, we’re not just preparing for the future—we’re participating in and supporting efforts to shape it.
Progress Over Perfection
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. At B&C, we’re committed to constant improvement. With Fairly Made, we’re turning insights into action, refining our processes, and driving positive change across our collection.
This isn’t about ticking boxes or making empty promises. It’s about creating apparel that’s responsible and ethical.
